Robert Lee "Bob" Abner born August 24, 1958 departed this life on Sunday October 13, 2024 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard being 66 years old. Robert was born in Hazard, Kentucky the son of the late Charlie Abner and the late Hazel Susan Rice Abner. Other than his parents, Robert was also preceded in death by his son, Christopher Joseph Abner; daughter, Laura Beth Howard; brothers, John Wayne Abner, William Edward Abner, Dennis Charles Abner. Bob was one of the very best mechanics and was a truck driver for many years. Bob loved and cared for his family deeply.

Robert Lee "Bob" Abner leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: son, Robert Lee Abner, Jr. & Jacinda of Buckhorn; step-son, Clifton Gross & Melinda of Pikeville, KY; daughter, Felecia Rose Abner of Mt. Sterling, KY; ex-wife, Betty Rose Abner of Jackson, KY; brothers, Benny Abner of Buckhorn, Tolbert Abner of Buckhorn, Elisha Abner of Buckhorn, Culley Abner of IL; sisters, Geraldine Abner of Buckhorn, Anne Collins of Buckhorn, Glenda Smith of OH, Marlene Stokely of Buckhorn, Nancy Baker of Buckhorn; eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends survive.

Visitation for Robert Lee "Bob" Abner will be held on Wednesday October 16, 2024 at the Rock Bottom Baptist Church after 6:00 P.M. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday October 17, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at the Rock Bottom Baptist Church with Simmie Ray Bowling officiating.  The Interment will follow in the Abner Family Cemetery located at Buckhorn, Kentucky. In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center located at 101 Dennis Sandlin M.D. Cove, Hazard, KY 41701.
