Robert R. Howard was born on March 11, 1946, in Hyden, Kentucky, the son of Alonzo Howard and Orpha Howard. He passed away on January 23, 2026, at the age of 79. Robert was a lifelong resident of Leslie County. He enjoyed taking walks and sharing stories from his life with those around him.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo and Orpha Howard; two sons, Robert Daryl Howard and Roger Dwayne Howard; two brothers, William Howard and Eugene Howard; four sisters, Doris Griffith, Viola Adams, Phronia Begley, and Virginia Cox; two sons-in-law, Lige Sizemore and Rick Boggs; the mother of his children, Bonnie Howard; and his first grandchild, Keleigh Bronson.

He leaves behind one daughter, Robin Boggs; grandchildren Amber Sizemore, Jimmy Helton, and Kassidy Sizemore; two great-granddaughters, Khloe Bronson and Adi Bronson; one great-grandson, Sawyer Helton; one sister, Juanita Lewis; and four brothers, Paul Howard (Carolyn), Alonzo Howard Jr., Benny Howard (Nancy), and James Howard, along with a host of other relatives and friends
