Rose Smith born August 14, 1925 departed this life on Wednesday October 25, 2023 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center being 98-years old.  Rose was born in Jeff, Kentucky the daughter of the late John Browning and the late Martha Combs Browning.  Other than her parents, Rose was also preceded in death by her husband, Higgins Smith; son, Tommy Smith; three sisters and one brother.  Rose was an active member of the Harvest Baptist Church, loved working in her flowers and gardening.  Rose loved going to the Senior Citizens and participating in their activities.  Rose was blessed with a long life and throughout the years she remained dedicated to her family and friends, and cherished the time spent together.

Rose Smith leaves the following relatives to cherish her memory: grandchildren, Tommy Dale Smith of Hazard and Ashley Brewer of Clay City; four great-grandchildren; special nieces, Andra Goodson and Debra Schneider; also a host of other nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends survive.

Funeral Services for Rose Smith will be conducted on Friday October 27, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. at the Harvest Baptist Church located at Lotts Creek, Kentucky with Josh Feltner officiating.  The Interment will follow in the Gayheart Family Cemetery located at Lotts Creek, Kentucky.  The Visitation will be at the Harvest Baptist Church on Friday from 12:00 – 1:00 P.M.  In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Harvest Baptist Church in honor of Rose Smith at 39 Feltner Lane – Hazard, Kentucky 41701.
