Ruby Cornett Watts born November 22, 1937 departed this life on Tuesday March 4, 2025 at her residence in Slemp, Kentucky being 87-years old.  Ruby was born in Slemp, Kentucky the daughter of the late Carter Cornett and the late Ada Pratt Cornett.  Other than her parents, Ruby was also preceded in death by her husband, John W. Watts; son, Jerry Watts; brothers, Verlin, Delmer, and Coleman; and sister, Margorie.

Ruby was a great cook, and loved providing meals to family and friends.  Ruby loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly, and cherished the time she shared with them.  Ruby was a devoted Christian and was a member of the Little Leatherwood Old Regular Baptist Church.

Ruby Cornett Watts leaves the following relatives to cherish her memory: son, Nick Watts & Sharon of Jeffersonville, KY; daughter, Diane Watts-Kalisz & Richard of St. Helena Island, South Carolina; five grandchildren, Sarah Watts, Heather Cundiff & Nick, Nicholas Watts & Kayla, Elena Obradovich, Amanda Bassham & Mark; five great-grandchildren, John Sexton, Shawn Sexton, Bodhi Cundiff, Piper Cundiff, and Layla Watts; also a host of other relatives and friends survive.

Funeral Services for Ruby Cornett Watts will be conducted on Saturday March 8, 2025 at 12:00 P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with Danny Dixon officiating.  The Interment will follow in the Ged Watts Cemetery at Linefork, Kentucky.  The Visitation will be held on Saturday March 8, 2025 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home from 11:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.
