It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Sandy Angel, who went home to be with the Lord on December 29, 2025, at Hazard ARH Hospital. Sandy was 81 years old.

She was born in Hazard, Kentucky, to the late Hilda Creech and the late James Kilburn, and was a graduate of M.C. Napier High School.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Hilda Creech (Carl Creech) and James Kilburn, her loving husband, Joseph Angel Sr. and her brother, Sammy Kilburn.

She is survived by her son, Joseph Angel; her brother, Felice Adams (Toni Adams); her stepdaughter/cousin, Angie Childers; her granddaughter, Ashly Angel (Stan Longstreet); three cherished great-granddaughters, Ava Longstreet, Avery Longstreet and Saylor Longstreet, her nephew, Derrick Adams (Ashley Adams); her niece, Felica Miller (Glenn Miller); two great-nieces: Alex Miller, Izabella Adams, two great-nephews Grayson Adams and Jared Miller.

Most of her life, Sandy was a devoted homemaker. She also worked at the Hospice clothing store and was known for making the very best home-cooked meals. Near and dear to her heart, Sandy was a lifelong, devout Catholic. She and her husband faithfully served and volunteered with their church for over 37 years.

Sandy was kind, generous, and deeply cherished by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held on February 21, 2026 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M., at Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Hazard, Kentucky, presided by Robert Dueweke O.P.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Church (329 Poplar St, Hazard, KY 41701) (in her memory).
