Shelby Jean Gay born April 18, 1939 went Home to be with the Lord on Friday February 2, 2024 at the Hazard A.R.H. being 84-years old. Shelby was born in Hazard, Kentucky the daughter of the late Tug Baker and the late Elizabeth Williams Baker. Other than her parents, Shelby was also preceded in death by her Husband, William Gay; One Son, Gregory Couch; One Daughter, Mary Rose Jones; Son-In-Law, Michael Davidson. Shelby was a Member of the County Line Community Church. Serving the Lord and being with her children and grandchildren was her life.

Shelby Jean Gay leaves the following relatives to cherish her memory:  Sons, William Gay, Jr. & Tonya of Ary, Lonnie Gay & Lisa of Rowdy, Johnny Gay of Ten Mile; Daughters, Rosetta Dickerson of Ten Mile, Loretta Deaton of Nicholasville, KY, Teresa Davidson of Ten Mile, Clearsie Feltner & Chuck of Bonnyman; Sister, Kathleen Popp of Busy; Sixteen-Grandchildren, Twenty-Seven Great-Grandchildren, One Great-Great Grandchild. A host of other relatives and friends also survive.

Visitation for Shelby Jean Gay will be held on Tuesday February 6, 2024 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M.  The Funeral will follow at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. with Anthony Mullins and Larry Gross officiating.  The Interment will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Southeast at Hyden, Kentucky.  In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the County Line Community Church, 12639 KY-15, Chavies, KY 41727 or to the Church Of The Great I Am, 101 Rowl St., Hazard, KY 41701.
