Steve Napier born March 24, 1935 departed this life on Thursday February 22, 2024 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center being 88-years old.  Steve was born in Chavies, Kentucky the son of the late Taylor Napier and the late Mae Whitaker Napier.  Other than his parents, Steve was also preceded in death by his son, Stephen Napier; brother, Glen Napier, and two sisters, Pauline Davidson and Frances June Napier Malicote.  Steve was a retired coal miner, he enjoyed fishing and loved making fishing baits, and was an avid wood worker.

Steve Napier leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: wife, Mahala Ruth Napier of Chavies, KY; two granddaughters, Heather Napier of Hazard, KY and Paige Gay & Blake of Gays Creek, KY; two brothers, Rodney Napier of California and William Napier of Chavies, KY; two sisters, Lucy Mallicoate of Somerset, KY and Madge Lunsford of Ohio; three great-grandsons, Brody Gay, Roczen Gay, and Hayden Smith; also a host of other relatives and friends survive.

Visitation for Steve Napier will be held on Monday February 26, 2024 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home from 1:00 – 2:00 P.M.  Funeral Services will follow on Monday at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M.  Interment will follow in the Taylor Napier Cemetery in Dunraven at Chavies, Kentucky.  In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center at 101 Dennis Sandlin MD Cove – Hazard, Kentucky 41701.
