Truman Akers born February 15, 1943 went Home to be with the Lord on Tuesday March 7, 2023 at the Hazard A.R.H. being 80-years old. Truman was born at Dorton, Kentucky the son of the late "Elder" Frank Akers and the late Mellie Tackett Akers. Other than his Parents, Truman was also preceded in death by Sisters, Gladis, Ruth, Lois, Doris, Joyce, and Lucinda; Brothers, James Lee and Carl. Truman was of the Old Regular Baptist Faith and loved to hunt, fish, and do woodworking.

Truman Akers leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: Wife of 60-years, Lilly Sue Akers of Busy; Three Brothers, Clarence Akers & Carol of Pikeville, KY, Bruce Akers of Morehead, KY, Paul Akers of Dorton, KY; Three Sisters, Wanda Sue Bailey & J.C. of Barbourville, WV, Barbara Collins & Bill of Whitesburg, KY, Betty Hall of Dorton, KY; Four Special Great-Nephews, Austin, Jason, William Howard, Jr. and Stacy Yates. A host of other relatives and friends survive.

Funeral Services for Truman Akers will be conducted on Saturday March 11, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with James Harold Tackett from Dorton, Kentucky officiating. Per the family, all Old Regular Baptists are welcome. The Interment will follow in the Baker Cemetery located at Grassy, Kentucky. The Visitation will be at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home on Saturday from 10:00 till 11:00 A.M.
