Violet Jean Couch born July 8, 1958 departed this life on Friday January 10, 2025 at the Hazard A.R.H. being 66 years old. Violet was born in Hazard, Kentucky the daughter of the late Jesse Back and the late Ora Bush Back. Other than her parents, Violet was also preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Lee Couch; sisters, Dovie Madsen, Thelma Brown, and Irene Cornett; brothers, Cecil Back and Herman Back. Violet was a Retired Educator with Perry County Schools.

Violet Jean Couch leaves the following relatives to cherish her memory: son, Darrell Leon Couch & Angie of Dayton, OH; daughter, Lassie Ritchie & Mike of Cornettsville, KY; sister, Joyce Shepherd & Paul of Cornettsville, KY; grandchildren, Destiny, Makenzy, Darriel, Savannah and Darren; one great-grandson, Calvin Levi Neace. A host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends survive.

Visitation for Violet Jean Couch will be conducted on Thursday January 16, 2025 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home from 6:00 till 8:00 P.M. and on Friday January 17, 2025 from 9:00 A.M. till 12:00 P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home. The Interment will follow in the Couch Cemetery located at Cornettsville, Kentucky.
