Evangelist Walter Hughes born July 30, 1947 went Home to be with the Lord on Monday May 20, 2024 at the Hazard A.R.H. being 76-years old. Walter was born in Hazard, Kentucky the son of the late Jim Hughes and the late Melda Spencer Hughes. Other than his parents, Walter was also preceded in death by his Loving Brothers & Sisters. First and foremost, Walter loved going to church and worshiping the Lord with his whole heart. Walter also loved fishing with his son, like hunting and working around the house.

Evangelist Walter Hughes leaves the following relatives to cherish his memory: wife of 52-years, Anna Hughes of Gays Creek; son, Walter Harold Hughes & Michelle of Gays Creek; daughter, Peggy Murphy & James of Gays Creek; step-daughter, Candy Farler & Stanley of Barwick. Grandchildren, Byron, J.T., Russell, Dakota, Drallim, Jesse, Justin and Stanley; Great-Grandchildren, Mikey, Mckenzie, Aliyah, James R., Clyde and Remington. A host of other relatives and friends survive.

Visitation for Evangelist Walter Hughes will be held on Friday May 24, 2024 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home from 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P.M.  Funeral Services will follow on Friday at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home at 1:00 P.M. with Clayton Stacy officiating.  The Interment will follow in the Eversole Cemetery at Bonnyman, Kentucky.
