Wanda Pennington born April 24, 1956 departed this life on Tuesday June 25, 2024 at her residence in Wooton, Kentucky being 68-years old.  Wanda was born in Hazard, Kentucky the daughter of the late Otis & Marcella Shepherd.  Other than her parents, Wanda was also preceded in death by her son, Gillis Martin "Marty" Pennington; brother, Billy Joe Engle and sister, Belinda Lewis.  Wanda was a member of the Saw Branch Pentecostal Church and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Wanda Pennington leaves the following relatives to cherish her memory: husband of 52-years, Gillis "Doc" Pennington of Wooton, KY; son, Eric Ryan Pennington of Wooton, KY; grandchildren, Tristan Kayson Pennington, Aidan Buster Cole Pennington, Dirk Glen Pennington, and Holly Linda Ann Pennington; special friend, Gail Wells; also a host of other relatives and friends survive.

Visitation for Wanda Pennington will be held on Friday June 28, 2024 at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M.  Funeral Service will follow on Saturday June 29, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home with Ronnie Wells and Alfred Smith officiating.  In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made towards funeral expenses.
