The obituary of Mr. Charles W. McIntosh. Officiating Minister will be: Brother Bob Milam. Mr. Charles W. McIntosh was born January 2, 1910 departed this life on Thursday April 16, 2009 at his residence at 44 Sam Campbell Branch Road, Hazard, Kentucky being 99 years, 3 months, and 14 days of age at the time of his passing. Charles was a life long resident of Perry County. The son of the late Jerry McIntosh and Sophia Frost McIntosh. Charles was a long time member of the Brethren Church. He was a World War II veteran serving with the United States Army. Charles was a retired teacher and administrator for the Perry County School Systems having taught for 35 years at the following schools: Lead Branch, Napfor, Campbell Bend, Meadow Branch, Dunraven, Bonnyman, and Dennis C. Wooton Elementary. He was principal for Chavies, Big Creek, Combs, and Viper schools. Charles was also preceded in death by two daughters: Peggy Morgan and Mattie Couch, three grandchildren: Wesley Whitt, Sherri and Jason Christie; four great grandchildren: Brittani Gossett, Holden, Cole, and Kendall Christie; five sisters, and six brothers. Mr. Charles W. McIntosh leaves the following relatives surviving: his wife of 67 years Sarena Campbell McIntosh; one daughter: Linda Whitt of Bonnyman, Kentucky; one sister: Grace Reed of London, Kentucky; eight grandchildren: Teresa & Kurt Marten of Wichita Falls, TX; Angela & Scott Cross of Knoxville, TN; Lesley Couch & Tom Hoagwood of Nashville, TN; Chester Marlowe & Jennifer Akers of Bonnyman, KY; nine great-grandchildren: Charles, Jessica, Christina Harlow & Caroline Gellner of TX; Eric Whitt, Cadance & Courteney Marlowe of Bonnyman, Ky; Sean & Kyle Cross of TN. three great-great grandchildren: Gavin, Dillon, & Audrey Gellner of TX., and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends survive. Funeral services for Mr. Charles W. McIntosh will be held at the Engle-Walker Funeral Home on East Main Street, Hazard, Kentucky Sunday, April 19, 2009 at 1:00p.m. with Brother Bob Milam officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodson Gut Cemetery located at Napfor, Kentucky. Visitation will be Saturday evening at Engle-Walker Funeral Home from 6:00p.m. to 9:00p.m.
